Who We Are

Stuart Fourie

Stuart obtained his B.A. degree cum laude in 1993 and his LL.B degree in 1995. After a brief career as a teacher and a year in London where he worked in banking he joined Cox Yeats in 2001. In 2005 Stuart became a partner at Cox Yeats and turned his attention from litigation to conveyancing. In 2010 Stuart joined a small firm in Westville and worked there as a partner for two years before starting Fourie Stott with Vicky. Stuart’s interests include genealogy, coin collecting and golf. He is also a committed member of Westville Baptist Church.

Chris Salmon
Senior Associate

Chris obtained his B.Soc.Sci degree in 1994 and his LL.B degree in 1996. He then spent eight years working and travelling while based in London and Dublin. Chris commenced his legal career at Berkowitz Cohen Wartski in 2004, where he practiced for three years before returning to London and working as a UK qualified solicitor for Mays Brown Solicitors in the conveyancing and general litigation department until 2010. Chris then relocated back to sunny Durban and worked at Du Toit Havemann & Lloyd for five years in the litigation department, specialising in property law, including sectional title litigation, debt collection, commercial and general litigation. Chris’s interests include music, photography, the outdoors and biking with his kids.

Kerry-Lee van Heerden

Kerry obtained her LL.B in 2007. She worked as a legal advisor at Business Partners for 4 years before commencing her articles at Easton-Berry Inc in 2011. She spent a short time in labour law with Barkers Attorneys in 2013 before spending 6 months travelling around South East Asia. On her return to South Africa she established the conveyancing department at Allen Attorneys, before discovering Fourie Stott in 2018. Kerry is a conveyancer and notary public and now focuses on drafting contracts. Her interests also include hiking, surfing and reading.

Marchelle Botha

Marchelle obtained her LL.B in 2013 at the University of Pretoria. She commenced her legal career at Alex May Incorporated in 2013 and completed her articles in Mtunzini at Du Toit Incorporated before moving to Durban. Marchelle then worked at a forensic audit company for over 2,5 years before joining Fourie Stott in 2017. Marchelle is a Conveyancer and notary public and specialises in Conveyancing and property law. Her interests also include family, sport, diy projects and exploring South Africa.

Claire Delport

Claire obtained her LLB degree in 2003 and in 2004 she obtained her LLM in Business Law. Claire started her articles in 2005 and in 2007 she was admitted as an attorney with right of appearance in the High Court. Claire worked at Knight Turner Attorneys and Lister and Company between 2005 and 2009 and in January 2010 she started her own practice Delport & Associates. In 2016 Claire left private practice to work in-house for a global telecommunications company focusing on commercial matters. Claire’s experience over the years includes litigation, arbitration and the negotiation and drafting of contracts relating to family law, labour law, commercial law and criminal matters. In her spare time, Claire enjoys training at the gym, running or hiking the trails and walking her dogs on the beach.
